# Catalog

It is the same as creating products and bookings. These two types of items are combined into Catalog. It is the PRO version functionality.

The Catalog is the eCommerce engine behind CraftForms. Define your products, services, and bookable experiences here — once — and connect them to any form on your site. Each item carries its own options, variables, and pricing logic that CraftForms merges into your form automatically at submission time. No duplicate forms. No manual data wrangling per submission.

### Catalog Item Conception

Catalog items have dual functionality.&#x20;

First, they exist to separate ecommerce functionality, to bring the order in ecommerce flow: having "products" and then "orders" based on the products. Products and orders must keep a strong reference. So, catalog items are "products". **Each form can be connected to specific catalog item and this way submissions of the connected form will create orders.** [Learn more how to connect form to a catalog item.](/documentation/ecommerce/catalog/use-form-connected-to-catalog-item.md)

Second, **catalog items can extend forms**. The idea is this: user may have one base form, place it on different pages, connect to different catalog items each of which may change/overwrite form fields, smart variables and price calculation formula.
