# Installation

### Install the plugin <a href="#install-free-version" id="install-free-version"></a>

#### Install FREE (Community) version

1. Link to the FREE version of the plugin is located on <https://craftformswp.com/> or [Download it right here](https://updates.craftformswp.com/latest). Save the archive locally on your PC.
2. Unzip and upload the plugin's files to the `/wp-content/plugins/craftforms` directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
3. Activate the plugin through the `Plugins` screen in WordPress and you will be redirected to [Getting Started](/documentation/getting-started.md) screen:

The free version features are immediately available, they can be accessed using the UI and admin menu on the left.

#### Upgrade to PRO version

In order to buy PRO version you should click on "Upgrade to PRO" submenu item:

It is marketing page, it features most important features of the pro version and defines steps to follow to buy the pro version. The purchase itself can be done on our website: <https://craftformswp.com/#pricing> Two versions are available:

* INDIE - subscription based, includes 5 sites activations;
* STARTUP - lifetime deal, pay once, includes unlimited sites activations;

After the purchase you will receive an email with instructions to access [MY.craftformswp.com](/documentation/installation/my.craftformswp.com.md) and an access to the download list of plugin versions and other info:

1. Download, unzip and upload the plugin's files to the `/wp-content/plugins/craftforms-premium` directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
2. Activate the PRO version (you may delete the free version plugin now):

3. Go to `Settings -> Activate PRO` and insert site activation code previously created in [MY.craftformswp.com](/documentation/installation/my.craftformswp.com.md) application:

4. Upon successful activation all PRO features will be unlocked as well as automatic plugin updates.

### Install "Freemius" Version <a href="#install-free-version" id="install-free-version"></a>

#### Install FREE version <a href="#install-free-version" id="install-free-version"></a>

1. Link to the FREE version of the plugin is located on <https://craftformswp.com/> Click "Download" button and save the archive locally on your PC.
2. Unzip and upload the plugin's files to the `/wp-content/plugins/craftforms` directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
3. Activate the plugin through the `Plugins` screen in WordPress
4. You will be asked to opt-in for usage statistics. You can choose either to do opt-in or do not do this. It is up to you. **However, it is essential to opt-in to make your site visible for us, therefore we can help you with licenses etc. You will be sent an email with verification link. Use it to verify your user of the plugin.**

Use the `CraftForms` admin menu item to access admin page where forms can be created. **Final screen for those who activated FREE version and did not opted-in** - you are ready to work:

The submenu item "Upgrade" is a possibility to buy PRO version of the plugin. Apart from that you may start using the plugin, its free version functionalities.

#### Upgrade to PRO version

In order to buy PRO version you should click on "Upgrade" submenu item. The built-in checkout will be shown with available plans. Upon purchasing the license a new "Account" page will be shown just above "Upgrade" submenu item.

Other possibility - go to "Plugins" page and click "Opt-in" or "Activate License":

This action is dedicated to cases when you already have a license and want to use it as well as to buy a new one.

The PRO version of the plugin is located in `craftforms-premium` folder. This version of the plugin can be downloaded from [Freemius Customer's portal](https://customers.freemius.com/).
